Bertens: I have Improved my Level. Kiki Bertens gained some confidence again at the last tournament of her trip through Asia.
She has already won four victories in Beijing and takes essential points in the battle for the WTA Finals in the Chinese capital.
“I am playing tennis a bit better this week”,
Bertens confessed after her victory in the quarterfinals against Elina Svitolina (7-6 (6) 6-2).
“I got in where it was possible, came to the net and I haven’t done much in the last few weeks.
I boosted my level.
If you start to play better, have some victories and are in the semi-finals, then that’s it just beautiful. “
On Saturday, Bertens will compete against Ashleigh Barty, the number 1 in the world.
“It is tough to play against her because she plays so differently than the other girls,” says Bertens.
“Ashleigh does play offensive, but in her way.
