Facebook is Removing the Conspiracy Theories Qanon on All Its Platforms

The social media company Facebook wants to remove all pages from its platforms that refer to the conspiracy theories QAnon. And that even if they do not contain violence.

Intelligence agencies consider popular American conspiracy theory to be a security threat.

Facebook already decided in August to ban QAnon groups that spread violence, but the company is now taking it a step further.

All pages and accounts on Facebook, Facebook groups and Instagram that represent QAnon will be deleted.

The company looks at the names and biography of the page or the discussions in the groups or pages. Facebook also wants to throw the administrators of such pages from the platform.

Mentions of QAnon in other discussion groups are not covered by the new measure.
