In the UK, the number of patients with little or no sequelae after a stroke has tripled thanks to artificial intelligence. The British Department of Health announces this.
The Brainomix e-Stroke system, developed by an Oxford company, enables faster diagnosis and faster selection of the most appropriate treatment.
In 111,000 suspected stroke cases, its use increased the percentage of patients without mild disability from 16 to 48 percent.
Artificial intelligence helps with decisions in interpreting brain scans so that the patient receives “the right treatment, in the right place, at the right time,” the ministry says. Every year in England, 85,000 people suffer a stroke.
