GB News reports that British police have seized 2 million pounds from controversial American influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan.
The duo has been accused of large-scale tax evasion in the United Kingdom. They allegedly failed to pay taxes on 21 million pounds of internet income between 2014 and 2022. The money comes from several of the duo’s frozen British bank accounts.
In one of his videos, Tate boasted about his tax evasion. “When I lived in England, I refused to pay taxes,” he once said. The public prosecutor cited the video and described the brothers as “serial tax and VAT evaders.”
The brothers are in custody in Romania, where they have lived for several years. They are being prosecuted together with two women for human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to exploit women sexually. It is not yet known when that case will start.
