
At least 30 people have been killed and more than 50 injured in a suicide attack on a Shia mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar. The attack was during Friday prayers.
According to local media, two terrorists went to the mosque and shot at police officers who were standing guard. One of the two managed to break into the mosque and blew himself up.
The Shia minority in Pakistan makes up about 16 percent of the population of more than 225 million inhabitants. She is often the target of Sunni extremists.
Peshawar is located in the country’s northwest, not far from the Afghan border.
