Several European countries have announced their readiness to purchase Patriot air defence systems and other weapons for Ukraine from the United States.
However, it remains unclear exactly which weapons the US intends to supply and how it plans to do so.
US President Trump announced on Monday that the US is now willing to help Ukraine with additional weapons to maintain its war with Russia. But Europe will have to pay for this.
According to NATO chief Rutte, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland have already indicated their willingness to participate. Germany is already in the process of purchasing Patriots. Danish Foreign Minister Løkke Rasmussen and Swedish Defense Minister Jonson, among others, have confirmed their participation.”
The precise plan is still unknown. This way, countries can buy directly for Ukraine, but also give away their own weapons and order new ones from the US.
