The US Federal Investigation Service FBI has identified more than 400 suspects in storming the Capitol. Assistant director Steven D’Antuono said more than 130 people had been arrested.
The FBI has received more than 200,000 digital tips about participants in the storming of Washington’s parliament building on Jan. 6 by supporters of Donald Trump. Many people saw family members or friends in photos and reported them.
Five people were killed in the assault. The building had to be evacuated. At the time of the storm, the electoral votes were counted, officially making Biden the US’s new president.
D’Antuono said the FBI is doing everything it can to bring those responsible to justice. There they have to answer for their actions.
Washington’s prosecutor said on Tuesday that he expects charges to be brought against the assailants soon. According to the prosecution, the authorities are busy collecting evidence against the suspects to be charged and convicted.
