Google Introduces New Gmail Interface for All Users

Google is making its revamped Gmail interface available to all users. With the changes, you can easily switch between Chat and Spaces, among other things.

It also makes making video calls from Gmail via Google Meet easier.

Based on Google’s Material Design 3, the renewed interface has been available for some business users for some time. However, the interface will be introduced to everyone in the coming weeks. In a blog post, product manager Neena Kamath explains the changes. Especially new is that Mail, Chat, Spaces, and Meet are now visible at a glance.

Furthermore, users can indicate via the Quick settings which apps they still want to show on the left side of their screen to switch between the different applications more smoothly.

The new integrated view is rolling out to all Gmail users who have activated Chat. But, of course, keeping the ‘old’ interface is also possible.
