According to the British National Statistics Office (ONS), nearly a quarter of Britons officially registered as corona deaths have not died of Covid-19, according to the British National Statistics Office (ONS).
According to British media, a new addition from the ONS states that 23 percent of deaths are infected with the coronavirus but did not die as a direct result.
A different condition is listed as the first cause of death, but they are on the list of corona deaths, The Daily Mail and the Telegraph reported.
The announcement comes as the number of deaths attributed to the virus is plummeting across the UK. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is under tremendous pressure to get on with his promised easing. MPs from his own Conservative Party insist that he adjust his schedule and begin all easing earlier than he anticipates.
However, Johnson does not want to rush. In a conversation with Sky News, he said that he thinks the fall in infections, hospitalizations, and deaths in the country is mainly due to the restrictions imposed by his government and not the rapid vaccination campaign.
“It is important for everyone to understand that the vaccination campaign has not achieved the drop in those numbers. (..) It does help, but most of the work to fight the virus has been done through the lockdown.”
