Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky accuses Russia in a video message of wanting to “eradicate” Ukraine and its history. He calls on countries worldwide not to remain neutral.
Zelensky, himself of Jewish descent, also asks the Jews “not to remain silent”. On Tuesday, there was a Russian rocket attack on the television tower in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
It is not far from the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial, which commemorates one of the largest massacres of the Jews during the Second World War.
In his video message, the Ukrainian president also says that nearly 6,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in the past week. Russia acknowledges that its troops have been killed and wounded, but has not reported any numbers.
