Britain’s main natural gas supplier assumes that high natural gas prices are not a temporary phenomenon but could last up to two years.
“The market suggests that high gas prices will continue for the next 18 to 24 months,” Chris O’Shea, chief executive of Centrica, owner of gas supplier British Gas, said in an interview with the BBC.
O’Shea sees no indications of possible falling prices.
High electricity and gas bills are a headache for families across Europe and cause peak inflation.
