The Simpsons Once Got a Prediction Wrong… or At Least Partly

‘The Simpsons’ are known to many for their accurate predictions. According to many believers, an episode from season 11 predicted in 2000 that Kamala Harris would become president, but after Trump’s victory, they seem to have been wrong.

The American animated series The Simpsons is known for having ‘predicted’ many events that would come out a few years later. For years, fans of the TV series have seen connections between episodes and world events. However, this time, the animated series was wrong—at least partly.

In the episode ‘Bart to the Future’ from season 11, Bart is shown having a vision in which his sister Lisa becomes president of the United States. In the vision, she is the first female president.

Her outfit is particularly striking: it looked very similar to Harris’s outfit at President Joe Biden’s inauguration and her swearing-in as vice president. According to believers, the images predicted that Harris would become president, which is not the case. “It finally happened. The Simpsons were wrong, and I’m in shock,” writes a fan on X.

However, according to many other believers, the makers of ‘The Simpsons’ had made a correct prediction again. In a fragment from the same episode, a map shows per state whether the Democrats or Republicans won and which states were therefore coloured blue or red. That map is said to be almost identical to this year’s map, much to the disbelief of fans.
