The file-sending service WeTransfer is now limiting the number of free transfers for users to 10 per month.
WeTransfer reports that the new limit has been in effect since this month. At the same time, WeTransfer is adding some perks to the free plan, including an increase in the total file limit from 2 GB to 3 GB.
There are also no restrictions up front in ‘portals’ – the folders for collaborating with customers -in reviews, ratings, and password protection for all transfers. Until recently, these were all ‘premium’ features you had to pay for.
WeTransfer – acquired by the Italian Bending Spoons this summer – is also changing its general pricing structure. For example, there is now a new WeTransfer Starter subscription that costs $10 per month.
This subscription offers the same benefits as the free subscription but increases the file size limit to 300 GB. The former Pro and Premium subscriptions are merged into a single Ultimate formula.
