Europe alone cannot guarantee the security of Ukraine. For that, the United States is really needed, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Under pressure from incoming American President Donald Trump, Ukraine is increasingly considering peace talks and a ceasefire in the war with aggressor Russia.
But then Russia should not be able to finish the job after a break, and Ukraine, therefore, needs protection, warns Zelensky.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine looks to NATO for absolute security guarantees, the alliance of mainly European countries and its major patron, the US. “It is very important for us to have both on board, the US and the Europeans.”
