Another police officer has been charged with sex crimes in the United Kingdom. The man is charged with two rapes and other sex offences.
In total, it concerns eight sex crimes, the police in the southern English county of Dorset announced on Monday.
The 46-year-old would have committed the facts in early 2022 when he was not on duty. He is due to appear in court in Poole on Friday.
The UK Home Office had recently called on police forces to cross-check their officers’ and employees’ records with national police databases in search of “black sheep”.
The reason was a scandal involving a serial rapist in the police: a London police officer confessed that he had raped and assaulted a dozen women over 20 years.
