Israeli Hospital is Investigating the Effect of the Fourth Corona Vaccine

An Israeli hospital begins an investigation into the safety and usefulness of a fourth corona jab. As a result, one hundred and fifty Sheba Medical Center employees are receiving an additional vaccination. According to the hospital, this is the first time such a study has been conducted.

The employees in question had a third shot before August 20. They are now being vaccinated for the fourth time with the vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech. The hospital is conducting the study collaborating with the Israeli Ministry of Health.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced last week that people over 60 and healthcare workers, among others, would be eligible for a fourth vaccination. According to Bennett, this would help “overcome the omikron wave that is sweeping the world”.

The health ministry later said that the new round of vaccinations had not yet been officially started. Experts found that there was little information about the effects of such a fourth shot. However, many countries have already made a start with third injections. These ‘boosters’ should ensure that residents are better protected against the new omikron variant of the coronavirus.
