In the past 24 hours, 3130 infections with the coronavirus have been detected in the Czech Republic.
It is the first time that the Central European country has crossed the threshold of three thousand infections per day, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
The total number of people who contracted the coronavirus in the Czech Republic amounts to more than 44,000.
And 489 people have died from its effects. In the country with more than 10 million inhabitants, stricter measures have been in force since Friday to prevent the spread of the virus.
For example, students must wear a mouth mask. The catering industry closes at midnight, and visitors are allowed to sit alone.
The travel advice for the Czech Republic is yellow (note security risks), except for Prague. The colour code for the capital was changed to orange earlier this week, which stands for only necessary travel.
