At least two people were killed by gunfire during demonstrations against racism in the American city of Kenosha on Wednesday. The police have stated that.
For the third night in a row, people took to the streets following the shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake by police on Sunday. The protesters defied a nightly curfew. Officers fired rubber bullets and used tear gas to disperse the protesters.
The circumstances surrounding the shootings are not yet precise. The victims may have been hit by bullets fired by people trying to protect shops from rioters.
Blake received at least seven bullets in the back on Sunday, while his three children watched from the car. His lawyers say he can never walk again.
Police have not yet explained as to why Blake was shot. Also, the agent in question has not however been called to account.
Police arrived on the scene on Sunday after a report of domestic violence. Blake was there too, trying to separate two arguing women. The moment he was about to walk back to his car, he was shot by a cop.
