Trump Makes Statement in Trump Organization Fraud Case

Former US President Donald Trump will answer questions from Attorney General Letitia James under oath about alleged fraud by The Trump Organization on Wednesday.

She wants to know whether the company has misquoted the value of the real estate for, among other things, tax breaks and higher loans.

In addition to Trump, his children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump made a statement on the matter. The three agreed to this after they failed to have the subpoenas null and void through the courts. Trump’s appointment with James was originally scheduled for July but was pushed back due to the death of Trump’s former wife, Ivana Trump.

Trump calls Democratic James’s investigation politically motivated. On his own social network Truth Social, where he reports the appointment, he writes that his “great company and I are under attack from all sides.” The New York Attorney General believes more than three years of investigations have revealed evidence that The Trump Organization misrepresented the value of assets in order to profit from them.

Trump’s testimony comes days after a nationwide FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago resort, believed to be an investigation into confidential documents taken from the White House. The former president has expressed his distrust about the investigation on the spot via his platform.
