Apple is Abandoning Construction of Large Data Centre in Ireland. Apple, because of years of delays in the approval and planning, has decided not to build a large data centre worth $ 1 billion in Ireland, according to the American technology group from Dublin.
Apple presented in February 2015 the plan to build a large data centre in the west of Ireland, with an area of 23 football fields.
Initially, the intention was to complete the project in 2017. However, there were complaints about,
among other things, the impact on the environment, as a result of which there was always a delay in permits and planning.
The manufacturer of the iPhone calls the whole course of events around the project “disappointing”.
Apple has its European headquarters, with more than six thousand employees, in Ireland.
