India overtook Brazil on Monday and is now in second place worldwide in the number of corona infections.
In the country, 4.2 million cases of illness have been recorded since the outbreak started, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
In Brazil, 4.12 million inhabitants have been infected so far, and the United States has 6.25 million.
India has recorded 71,642 corona deaths, fewer than 126,203 in Brazil and 188,540 in the US.
However, many experts say that India is not testing enough people, and the actual numbers could be much higher.
