Mark Zuckerberg, the boss of Facebook, was questioned last week by the US Federal Agency for Consumer Protection.
That agency is investigating possible abuse of the dominant position of technology giants, Politico reports.
The company did not confirm the information but did say that officials from the social network company regularly participate in the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) hearings.
As the Ministry of Justice, this committee is responsible for competition control.
“We are committed to cooperate with the FTC’s investigation and to answer any questions it may have,” said a Facebook spokesperson.
According to anonymous Politico sources, the questioning of Zuckerberg does not automatically mean that the agency will also prosecute for not respecting the competition.
