The implicit extension of the Belgian corona measures should have been better explained, the government admits. Belgians felt robbed by the six-week extension.
The measures were due to expire on Friday when the six Belgian governments meet again for corona crisis consultation but turned out to be continued for another six weeks on Tuesday evening.
That was what journalists concluded from the Official Gazette – the government had not mentioned an extension or stated another date.
That should have been different, admits Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden on news channel Radio 1. But she emphasizes that not all measures will necessarily remain in effect until 1 March.
If the epidemic allows it, they can simply be relaxed in the meantime.
