Apple Working on Duvet and Mattress to Measure Sleep

Apple Working on Duvet and Mattress to Measure Sleep. Apple may come up with a new way to monitor someone’s sleep in the future.

The tech company is said to be developing unique bedding and a mattress, according to a new patent-pending by two Apple researchers.

The products seem to be an extension of the Beddit system, a sensor strip that users place under their fitted sheets and with which sleep is registered.

Data such as heart rate, respiration and snoring behaviour are sent to the iPhone or Apple Watch and show a person’s sleep pattern.

The disadvantage of Beddit or an Apple Watch is that the equipment can affect sleep. It is also only a small sensor.

The mattress and duvet could contain multiple sensors that can provide a more significant amount of data.
