China Threatens the US With Measures to Intervene in Hong Kong

China has warned the United States not to interfere with the situation in Hong Kong. That warning follows a US threat of sanctions if Beijing pushes through the so-called security law in Hong Kong.

According to critics, that security law is intended to put an end to the autonomous status of Hong Kong within China and the protest movement against the authoritarian Chinese regime.

China threatens with countermeasures like the US taking sanctions.

A spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry said at a news conference that the US wants to compromise China’s national security and that Beijing has recounted Washington’s threat to O’Brien.
