Hong Kong Protesters Clash With Police Again During the Protest

In Hong Kong, protesters clashed hard with riot police on Thursday. In the Mong Kok district, people took to the streets again to demonstrate against their own government.

The widespread student protests on Chinese Tiananmen Square, precisely 31 years ago, were also discussed. The demonstration was banned because of the coronavirus.

To disperse the demonstrators, police officers used pepper spray, among other things.

In addition, several protesters were arrested when they tried to barricade roads.

It has been restless for a long time in Hong Kong. A large part of the population is angry with their own government and the growing influence of China.

That country enacted a controversial security law that would allow Beijing to intervene directly in Hong Kong’s security issues.

The metropolis, a former British crown colony, is an autonomous part of China with its own government and legal system.
